Studying with Music The transition from high school to college gives students much more freedom. The change from being in class less but needing to study more can be difficult to grasp. Because there are no teachers or parents monitoring study the style of studying in college is based on the student. This poses the question, do college students listen to music while they study? Many studies have gone into the effects of listening to music while multitasking but the survey results of how many college students listen to music while studding is fascinating.              There have been a lot of studies on what listening to music does to people while trying to focus and get work done. Listening to music while studying  The topic of listening to music while studying is very important especially in college due to the amount of studying that is done. This topic to me is interesting because I can only listen to music while doing some of my homework. My goal of this research paper is to explore the amount of students that study while playing music and also the effectiveness of studying while playing music. Two research questions  What percentage of college students listen to music while studying? Is it beneficial to listen to music while studying.  Research Strategies  To conduct my research I will be making a survey for only college students to take. This format for me is very different to anything that I have done in the past. I have only done informal research papers so this format is all new to me. Overall, this layout is very scientific based and I have never written any papers in a science class so it is very unfamiliar. The only research based papers that I have done were in high school and they only conducted of finding other research and sources to support an idea. This is very different from the structure of this layout because this on includes conducting your own study and finding the results to support your idea. Another difference that goes along with conducing your own research is explaining how you did it. This is something I have never done before and will need to learn before writing this essay.  There are some similarities between the format of this research paper and papers I have done in the past.
